Days 15-19: Mon-Fri, Jun. 26-30
I'm typing this Fri, Jun. 30, about 10:45p. We FaceTime'd earlier, and I'm playing catch up. Yes, this single post is clearly a shortcut. So, in an abridged version, here was my week!
Mon, Jun. 26: Work as normal, nothing unusual, nothing particularly crazy to report
Tue, Jun. 27: Had a collaboration idea meeting with a local dietician (she's cooler than it sounds) who could lend some really good health-centric content to BDC. We had a beer at Craft Beer Cellar before I stayed through for a class on hops, led by my friend Allison. She did a nice job—she's getting better. The class was definitely worth $10.
Wed, Jun. 28: Normal day at work. Went BACK to CBC to talk to owners Brian and Jessica about hosting BDC Ambassador Training there on a weekly basis, and then talked to them about becoming a BDC Certified Partner. They're (verbally) in, but business hasn't been great for them. They believe there's an invisible barrier between them and the Market and the rest of busy downtown. It's a bummer. But, not enough people know about them yet. I really hope things pick up because I like going there. The bartenders need a little better training, however.
Thurs, Jun. 29: I stayed at work a little late, but had to leave in time to get to Fox/Mazda before 7p to drop off my Saturn's released title, so that we can get that $500 check for its trade-in. Then, I bought a few beers from Rishi's. Then, I went to 7 Monks for the Speciation/Transient tap takeover. I snagged at seat at the bar, sample 7 really yummy beers, and kept transcribing the Cicerone syllabus. This is going to be a tough test...
Fri, Jun. 30: I'm caught up with my blog posts, buddy! They're not as glamorous as yours, but I'm trying to hold up my promise to make sure you're kept up to date with my days. Anyway...Normal, quiet day at work, but had a nice lunch break with Aaron and Toby at Tripleroot, despite not loving my sandwich. We each had a different one of their beers, and all were quite impressive. Aaron shared some information about Basel. Not a good situation right now. Can catch you up more in person. It's complicated. For the first time since you've been gone, on my way driving home tonight, I was really lonely for the first time. Weekend plans fell through with the Smiths, couldn't visit Paul's cottage, got invited last minute to go see a local band at Unruly Brewing Company by some GRBC kids but turned it down because I was already back in GR, and knowing that I was going to have an uneventful weekend. It just kinda weirded me out. But! Working on BDC stuff and catching on up the misc. personal stuff is actually a good thing. I think I've just tried to stay extra busy while you've been gone, and tonight/this weekend had ironically been the quietest of them all. Good to slow down, though. Oh, yeah, OAR tickets arrived in the mail today! ;)
