Day 22: Mon, Jul. 3
After working a half-day from home, I hung out with Paul at his cottage on the beach. Aaron and Taylor were there, 2 of Paul's boys, the couple from CO who invited us to stay, and Paul's nephew and his wife—and everyone's kids, who were all cute and fun horsing around with.
After about 3 hours in the sun, and Aaron and Taylor left, we jumped on a boat and cruised out to Boatwerks for dinner. Paul picked up my entire tab, and had a couple bottles of wine split between the table. I had a pretty yummy mushroom burger.
After we got back, and docked the boat, we all went up to Paul's nephew's sharp white beach house, drank more wine, and roasted hot dogs and s'mores on their patio.
The clock snuck up past midnight while we were at their house. No one wished me happy birthday, but it wasn't about me. I quietly just enjoyed some new company, a couple drinks, and random laughs and stories.
It was a good day.
